Malice Puddle

A Malice Puddle is one of the unidentifiable entities. It takes the initial form of a black puddle.

It requires very little food and water to maintain itself (~5 lbs./month) (1 L/month). When absorbing food or water, it makes a slimy sound. Most of the time, it is found dormant, either moving very slowly or not moving at all. However, this anomaly may become active and start to chase down nearby food sources that may significantly exceed its regular 5-lb. diet.

After catching large prey, it is usually quickly absorbed and converted into more puddle mass. When a particular puddle gains sufficient mass and maintains it for a certain period of time, it may split into groups of two or three. However, on an occasion, the puddle does not absorb the large prey. Instead, the prey takes on a metamorphosis and gets controlled by the puddle, acting like a parasite. The prey, now effectively a host, acts extremely aggressively towards anything that shares a vague resemblance of the host. It will begin appearing in the nightmares of surrounding creatures, each time getting more severe until fate is met and the host meets the individual. From there, the individual will be transformed into malice by the touch of the host, and the cycle continues.
